Adsense Celebrity MismatchI have never been much satisfied with Adsense for celebrity sites anyways. Since last 5-6 months Google Adsense has been paying a cent or two for every click i get on my celebrity sites network. Believe me, i have lot of traffic on those sites and i really do get lot of clicks there. An average 100 clicks give me $2.00 only. I mean, this really is insane. Isn’t it? Is that what the advertisers at adwords are really paying for celebrity sites? I feel totally looted here!

Anyways, recently i was browsing my Adsense account and there in those green highlighted pointers it was written that verifying your website via Google Webmaster Tools will help us serve you better. Well, i thought this is it. Much targeted ads, much more money and much better revenue for the celebrity sites. So i readily added and verified all my celebrity websites. So what do you think? Problem solved? Am i earning more now?

Lol  Not really. It’s even worse! Now an average 100 clicks give me $0.50 to $0.75. There you are Google Adsense. You really are brilliant with getting much more targeted ads.

My Dear God. Who in the world pays less than 1 cent per click to any advertiser program in the whole wide world?

I checked the ads running on my sites. Just reading the url and opening them in new windows. Each and every site is Made for Adsense (MFA). And they look worse. With absolutely no content. For God sake even blogspot blogs are being advertised by Adsense! Where is the Google TOS of “good landing page” being applied? I just want to ask, why is Google so dumb with their advertisers? And yet they come out brave and merciless when it comes to paid advertising on other sites which we have, by deindexing and banning and PR ripping things. What is it with you Google? Why don’t you get a life? Why can’t you live your own life and let live others their own?

Fact is, Google won’t let you sell advertising on your sites and blah blah blah, because they want people to use Adsense instead. But hey, they will not let you earn with Adsense either. Because they can’t filter MFA’s from their advertiser program. :(

So there you have it. Google Adsense vs. Celebrity Sites. You clearly know who the winner is! Don’t ruin your life. Get some better publisher advertisement programs on your celebrity sites.

Earth Hour 2008

in General, Google @ 6:52 am

On Saturday, March 29, 2008, Earth Hour invites people around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – from 8:00pm to 9:00pm in their local time zone. On this day, cities around the world, including Copenhagen, Chicago, Melbourne, Dubai, and Tel Aviv, will hold events to acknowledge their commitment to energy conservation.

I believe that all Indian cities will face a power cutoff too. From 8 to 9 P.M. At least my city, Panchkula will. And i believe that it’s truly a necessity for every person in the whole wide world to participate in Earth Hour. Even if your local authorities do not cut the power by 8, then go for it, do it yourself. Support the most expected biggest event on Earth, called the Earth Hour. I strongly support Earth Hour and so should you!

Well i noticed even Google supports the Earth Hour in a brilliant unique way. It shows that on it’s homepage. Just go visit www.google.com.

If you missed the looks at Google on this Earth Hour, then here it is just for you:

Google On Earth Day

It’s pretty unusual thing that has been going around in Google Mail since last three or four days. Everyday i delete some 15-20 spam mails, all selling some V pills or some Microsoft, Adobe’s software for 30-40 bucks, etc. I remember, Google Mail was pretty strict in letting the spam out. But i guess they are not keeping up to mark or up to date, so as to speak.

Of course i have been reporting the spams to Gmail via the feature “Report Spam”…. But i think the same mails again ends up in the inbox the following day. So certainly, at least on my end, Google Mail is not  working perfectly as it usually, always did.

Anyone else noticing the same thing?

Ally Web Directory became an authority site/directory today. I know it’s not a very special thing but still it’s a lot “special”. At least now, people can differentiate better directories from rest of the lot. At least now people will not judge directories on PageRank alone. It’s a good feeling to own a quality directory which even Google ranks as an authority site.

If you don’t know about what usually webmaster refer to an authority site, then here is some brief description.

Ally Directory Becomes An Authority Site

What actually most of webmaster call as authority sites are basically a feature of Google search engine called Sitelinks. They are the links shown below few sites in Google’s search engine results and are solely meant to help users navigate the site, much more easily. Accordingly to Google, they have a system (algorithm) which analyzes the link structure of your site to find shortcuts that will save users to quickly find the information that they are looking for on your site.

Ally Web Directory is now an authority directory (so as to speak) with 7 sitelinks to the directory. It is a huge bonus. Specially when you know that page rank is not the thing that’s going to actually prove the worth of Ally Directory. The news kinda made my day. After probably whole year of Google’s miseries, this is the only good thing that happened in Google and mine relationship. Lol

Thanks to my close friend, Sumit Bahl for breaking this news to me. :)

Google PagerankOkay, so there was another Google pagerank update. Unfortunately, Google didn’t learn anything from it’s mistake. I have seen PR7′s and PR6′s going to some useless directories but no matter how hard i work on my directory, no matter how much original and informational content I put on my Ally Directory, looks like Google won’t budge it’s PR ever. As if it’s fixed on PR3. So the concept is very clear as it seems. Make a useless site and you will get a good PR. But do not make a great looking site with great content. Coz Google unfortunately does not like good things. So it won’t give you PR. Or probably i should have been a Google employee. Anyways, PR sucks anyways.

I was late in posting about this PR update which took place sometime back this week. I forgot because i have almost quit thinking about Google pagerank. Remember “Goodbye Google Pagerank”

Anyways, since a friend brought this topic up while we were chatting, so i decided to check my sites and see if Google has changed for good or not. Unfortunately, once again it was a disappointing review by Google and yes, once again one of the worst PR updates ever. I still wonder as to what Ally Directory is missing. It ranks great in SERPS. it has a great design, great content. Great backlinks. But unfortunately not such a good pagerank. Poor Google or poor me???

Anyways…life moves on. With or without Google support ;)
